Signum belli 1914 was founded after first meeting of Working group for military cemeteries in Humenne (Slovakia). No civil society organisation concerning military cemeteries of First World War has existed in Czech republic before. Signum belli 1914 has been founded by several people, who had been dealing with this theme before. Jaroslav Hudský has been concerned with military cemetery in Olomouc-Černovír for several years, has been researching this subject, while publicating information on his web dedicated to military cemetery in Černovír. Another founding member of organisation, Petr Tichý, has participated in organising voluntary works to improve condition of the cemetery. Remaining two founding members - Jiří Vrba and Radim Kapavík - are concerned in Czech participation in First World War, both military and political, and have been doing some terrain research on this theme.
We have started basic research about location and condition of military cemeteries in Moravia and Silesia. We have also started basic research about participation of Czech soldiers in First World War and consequently places of their burrial in Poland and Slovakia. We are preparing two publications - first of them concerning first besiegement of Przemyśl fortress in 1914, the other military hospital in Olomouc during first world war.
